Hi, I have 2 HDD (160GB Sata and 40GB IDE), could you please help me with what should be the best way to install Vista ? HDD Selection and partitioning ??? Thanks,

If you want to avoid the question of the "F6" SATA driver floppy, you may install Vista on the 40 GB IDE, partitioned into 20 + 20 GB NTFS.
Start with the 40 GB PATA HDD as the only one and plug in the SATA HDD later only, after Vista has been installed...

The easiest and quickest way would be to disconnect the SATA drive for install and install Vista on the 40GB PATA drive. This will allow you to install without the SATA drivers. After the install is complete, you can re-connect the SATA drive.
If you have the SATA drivers handy, go ahead and install on the 160GB drive and press "F6" when requested to put in the SATA driver disk. It has better performance than the older 40GB drive. Although it may not be too noticeable, the SATA drive has a better interface, as well as probably having a higher cache onboard.
So, use the PATA drive for an easy install. If you have the SATA drivers, install Vista on the SATA drive. Easy will equal slightly lower performance, though.

Thanks for que quick reply. So if i choose to install on the SATA drive do you recomend any partitioning for better performance. Thanks,

I don't think partitioning would have any effect on performance. You can partition the drive later, after you have installed Vista. Use the "shrink" in disk manager to do this. One thing to keep in mind is that if you want to use BitLocker, you will have to install vista to a partition that is not your boot partition.
